Atsuwete’s death: APC postpones rally

Following the death of human-rights lawyer, Barr. Ken Atsuwete who was gruesomely murdered Sunday night in Rivers State, All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state has postponed it Rivers South-East Zonal Rally billed for Saturday.

The rally was supposed to take place in Eleme Local Government Area of the state.

A statement which emanated from the office of the APC Campaign Chairman for the rerun elections in the state, Engr. Sampson Ngeregbara said: “The All Progressive Congress in Rivers State hereby announces the postponement of Rivers South East senatorial rally scheduled on Saturday 3rd, 2016 at Eleme. The rally is postponed in honour of an APC member and a human Rights activist, Barr. Ken Atsuwete who was gruesomely murdered in cold blood by political enemies because of the views he held on the political situations in Rivers State and Nigeria.
The statement further  advised party members to be calm and law abiding, stressing that the security agencies have promised to get to the root of the matter .

A new date for the rally shall be made known to members the statement said.
