Rivers SDP pledges to work with Wike

By: Felix Ikpotor

Few weeks after the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike extended the olive branch of peace to all political parties in the state, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the state has reaffirmed its commitment to work with the governor to restore peace in the state.

The SDP also pledged its unwavering support to Wike in his efforts to develop and move the state to greater heights.

This is coming barely one day after the Chubuike Rotimi Amaechi faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state also stated its preparedness to work with the governor.

Mr Joshua Worlu, SDP State Party Chairman, disclosed this in a statement issued after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the party’s office in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

He said that the party would join hands with the governor to ensure sustainable peace, security and development in the state.

Worlu  on behalf of the party in the state, congratulated Wike over his victory at the March 23, Governorship Election.

The party chairman  urged all Rivers citizens and stakeholders, to join hands with the government to move the state forward.
