The Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA) has confirmed the appointment of three new caretaker committees for local councils in the state.

The new councils are Khana, Gokana and Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Areas.

Their confirmation followed a request letter from the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike asking the assembly to screen and confirm the CTC members.

Speaker of the assembly read the letter in plenary today (Wednesday).

The new caretaker chairmen are Monday Dum-Iye for Gokana, Gbara Erelo for Khana and Adonye Diri for Opobo/Nkoro local government areas respectively.

While screening the CTC members, Speaker of the assembly, Dabotorudima Adams urged them to see their positions as an avenue to serve their respective councils, stressing that the security and welfare of the areas should be taken seriously.
