High Court orders Ikpeazu to vacate office, Uche Ogah to take over as Abia governor

A Federal High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja today has ordered the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, to vacate office.

The court order follows allegation that the governor submitted false information to his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, during the party’s governorship primary in December 2014.

Justice Okon Abang in his ruling, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately issue a certificate of return to the complainant, Uche Ogah.

Ogah who polled the second highest number of votes in the primary election had dragged Ikpeazu before the court.
