Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his predecessor, now Minister for Transport, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi seems to be warming up to renew their rivalry after their 2015 general elections.

The two Ikwerre born politicians will not be battling for any political office but for whom to take charge of the burial of the late literary icon, Captain Elechi Amadi who passed on at the age of 82.

Wike while commiserating with the late Elechi Amadi’s family said the departed writer will be given a state burial.

Meanwhile, Capt. Elecchi Amadi’s son, Carl Elechi had thanked both governor and minister for sharing their moment of grieve during their separate visits.

He particularly thanked the former Rivers State governor for always being there for the family, “you were there for our father, when he was sick, you flew him in a private jet for medication”. He also described him as his father’s adopted son.
