The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has declared that the time is ripe to negotiate the unity of the country.
A statement made by a National leader of MASSOB, Chief Solomon Ordu Chukwu, spoke through the group’s National Director of Information, Sunday Okereafor, stressed that the agitation by various groups across the country were pointers to the fact that Nigeria’s unity is negotiable.
He said, “In the country now, we have Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East who do not want western education, but want everybody to embrace Islam, killing and causing havoc in the entire geo-political zone.
“Also, Fulani herdsmen are terrorising the entire country, killing, kidnapping and raping women at will, and destroying farmlands without government doing something.
“In the Niger Delta, we have the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), whose activities are akin to the (MEND), holding the nation’s economy in ransom.
“In South-East, MASSOB, in its non-violent campaign, has sustained the struggle.
“With all these agitations, how can it be said the unity of the country is not negotiable?”
