Rivers CP reiterates command’s stand against crime

New Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Francis Odesanya has reiterated the command’s readiness to ensure that cultism, robbery and other crime related activities in the state is eradicated.

CP Odesanya stated this during his maiden press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

He declared that the command under his watch will make the state a living hell for criminals to dwell.

The Commissioner noted that the command would put in place all necessary mercenary to recover illegal arms and weapons from criminals and cultists in the state.

Odesanya who pledged to provide responsible and accountable leadership as the state Police boss also declared zero tolerance for corruption among officers in the state.

He maintained that the ban on road block declared by the hierarchy of the Nigeria Police Force in still in place but noted that as a result of the security challenges facing the state, officers will mount on strategic checkpoints for stop and search duty.

Furthermore, CP Odesanya while promising to be professional in discharging his duties and give a level playing ground to all political parties, called on leaders of all parties in the state to maintain law and order and also caution their supporters against unleashing violence.
