Rio 2016: Dream Team VI to arrive Brazil 7 hours before Japan game

By: Felix Ikpotor

Nigeria’s U-23 team are now to land in Brazil, seven hours before their opening game at the 2016 Olympics against Japan.

Dream Team VI have been stranded at their Atlanta, USA, since Friday when they were initially scheduled to leave.

The Samson Siasia tutored boys could not fly out on Wednesday, after they rejected an Embraer EMB135ER Executive version, which could only convey 30 passengers.

Reports say officials have made plans to fly out with Delta Airlines and the new aircraft is believed to be comfortable enough for the players and coaching crew.

The journey is a 10-hour flight and the Flying Eagles will land in Manaus few hours before they play Japan.
