Transparency Group distance self from Speaker Dogara on Budget allegations

The budget padding allegations leveled against embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara has taken a new turn following the Speaker’s disclosure that a good number of the lawmakers are solidly behind him and hence, no offense committed as alleged by erstwhile Appropriation Committee chairman, Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin.

Speaking to pressmen in Abuja, Hon Yusuf Bala (Ikara/Kubau, Kaduna State. (APC) confronted the Speaker to publish the names of the said two hundred and twenty-five (225) honorable members who had signed in supporting him.

Hon Yusuf, who is a member of the Transparency Group urged the Speaker to reconvene the House from its recess instead of speaking on the social media.

He also said that the Group wants the House to resume from its break so that proper external investigations can be carried out to ascertain the position of things as regards to the budget padding been leveled against the four principal officers of the green chambers.
