BREAKING: Makarfi inaugurates National Executive Council of PDP

Following the inability of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to hold its conference in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has gone ahead to inaugurate the National Executive Council of the party.

While performing the inauguration at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Makarfi said the National Executive Committee (NEC) includes the board of the party, PDP governors, National Assembly Caucus, Board of Trustees, National Caucus, the 36 state PDP chairmen and National Officers of the party.

He stated that in the absence of national elected officers, members of the national caretaker committee will be part of NEC.

Makarfi noted that national caretaker committee members seize to be part of NEC once national officers are elected by the party.

At the inauguration were PDP governors, National Assembly Caucus, Board of Trustee members, 36 state chairmen, National Caucus and the national caretaker committee members.

A statement issued by Special Assistant to Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu said the meeting has gone into close door session while journalists would be briefed later.
