Why Sheriff met Obasanjo

A factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff and former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo held a closed door meeting at his hiltop residence in Abeokuta on Saturday.

Sheriff entered the residence at about 11 and went straight to Obasanjo’s inner room for a closed door meeting which lasted for one hour, Vanguard reports.

The security operatives attached to Obasanjo’s residence allowed only the SUV that carried Sheriff into the premises, while other vehicles were asked to park outside the residence.

The meeting may not be unconnected to the leadership crisis rocking the former ruling party.
