Biafra agitation: Rivers Police warns IPOB members

The Rivers state Police Command has warned men, women and youths in the state to stay away from the planned protest being organized by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Friday.

State Commissioner of Police, CP Francis Odesanya issued the warning while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt.

CP Odesanya said the Command will not tolerate ‎any breach of security in Rivers state.

He called on parents and guardians to caution their wards from joining the planned IPOB protest.

Information has it that member of IPOB plan to hold a protest against the continuous incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu.

‎According to him, “We are on top of the situation. I wouldn’t want to go into the nitty-gritty of our deployment. We have had this situation before and that means we have the experience.

“People should better advice their wards to stay at home and allow people to go about their lawful duties. Nobody should allow himself or herself be dragged into the activity of the group.

“We are not going to fold our arms and allow anarchy reign in Rivers state.”
