Bad economy: We accept responsibility – APC governors

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has finally accepted responsibility for the country’s poor economic situation.

Leader of the party’s Governors Forum and governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha made the remark while addressing State House Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday.

Okorocha promised that the party will fix the current economic challenges ravaging the country.

According to the governor, “We must take responsibility and we must never shift the responsibility to anybody.

“We are responsible for everything happening in Nigeria.

“The good, the bad, the ugly but we are promising Nigerians that we shall fix it.”

Governors on the platform of the ruling party had a closed-door meeting with the President.

Okorocha’s remark is coming after several months of blaming the immediate past administration of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the country’s current economic challenges.

Recall that Buhari had recently said memories of the past administration led by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will never be overlooked, stressing that he will continue to keep the “mistakes” in view, to guard against repeating them, as according to him, the sufferings presently experienced in the country are the outcome of those mistakes.
