Aluu-4: Court adjourns ruling to November 10

Justice Letam Nyordee of a Port-Harcourt High Court has fixed November 10th to deliver ruling on the admissibility of autopsy reports of three out of the four undergraduates of the University of Port-Harcourt that where killed by a mob in Omuokiri Aluu Community in 2012.

The autopsy reports from the University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH was brought by the Rivers State Director of Public Prosecution, DPP Otoribio Obikiri to be tendered as evidence.

The DPP told the court that the autopsy reports of three out of the four slain undergraduates are very vital for the determination of the matter.

Counsel to one of the accused persons Obidiah Charles Mbaba opposed the admissibility of the autopsy reports on grounds that the medical doctor who presented the document is not an expert witness.

Our correspondent reports that twelve suspects including a police sergeant are currently standing trial in the matter on a thirteen count charge of conspiracy, murder and felony.
