Court upholds forfeiture order on Fayose’s property

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja Monday, upheld the forfeiture order of Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose’s property by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba had, on July 20, 2016, granted EFCC an order of interim forfeiture of the properties for a period of 45 days which lapsed on September 4.

The judge had granted the order of interim forfeiture on the strength of EFCC’s claim that it was carrying out a criminal investigation into the proceeds used to acquire the properties.
