As part of moves to ensure the success of the just concluded amnesty programme for repentant cultists in Khana local government area of Rivers State, the authority of the council has set up a nine member peace committee to that effect.
This was part of the decisions reached at a security meeting with traditional rulers organised by the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the council, Baridah Nsaanee.
The CTC boss urged the committee to ensure that all cultists in Khana accept the amnesty offer and drop their weapons.
Responding, the Chairman of the nine man peace committee Mene Itae-Dinee appealed to the Rivers State Government to urgently create employment and skill acquisition to repentant cultists that just embraced the amnesty in Khana. The Khana 9-member Peace Committee has Mene Itae-Dinee as Chairman, Christopher Naenee Vice Chairman as well as Joseph Kara Secretary. Others include Deele Deedam, Latam Teenwii, Beeue Sarue Ilegwe, Letaagha Deekii, Baridoo Mmeabee as well as Bishop Ekejoo Nkonjor as members.
