Osun doctors protest unpaid backlog of salaries

Medical doctors in the employment of  Osun State government on Thursday embarked on a protest to demand for backlog of salaries and allowances.

The doctors, under the aegis of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state condemned the lackadaisical approach of the state government towards their plights.

President  of the association, Dr Jumoke Olatokunbo during the protest said doctors in the employment of the state government are being owed 22 months arrears, adding that the situation is already becoming unbearable for his colleagues.

He called for quick intervention of well meaning Nigerians to  persuade the government to meet their demand and avoid embarrassing industrial action.

The procession which we gathered was  peaceful, commenced from the premises of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital,(LAUTECH) Osogbo, towards the popular Olaiya Junction.
