Rivers Assembly suspends member over misconduct

The Rivers State House of Assembly, RVHA, Monday, suspended the member representing Ikwerre State Constituency, Azubuike Nwanjoku over alleged uncomplimentary statements against the House.

Wanjoku is of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The assembly arrived at the decision after the issue was raised in plenary. He was later referred to the House Committee on Ethics and Privilleges.

PHSpectator recalls that the it had raised the alarm over the possible suspension of some lawmakers in the assembly few months ago.

It was also reported previously that the embattled lawmaker was said to have told pressmen that the assembly has nothing to do, adding that they only sit at the instance of the state governor, Nyesom Wike, a situation that we learnt pitched him against his colleagues.
