Recall: Kogi PDP backs Melaye

The Kogi state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has urged its members to dissociate and vote against the alleged government organised planned recall process of Senator Dino Melaye.

In a statement signed by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation on Friday, the party described the recall as a hoax, and politically motivated exercise.

The party also described the process as undemocratic,  maintaining that the recall process is an ‘executive recklessness’ against opposing voices.

PDP which is the main opposition party in the state further stressed that they are behind the message of the embattled APC senator in exposing bad governance.

“Dino’s message of inept leadership and bad governance that has brought the state to its lowest ebb under the current dispensation, only goes to reinforce the PDP’s position that Kogi state is now a failed state and has been made a laughing stock among committee of states in the country.”

The statement further call on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies, not to allow themselves to be used in the forceful plan to deny Kogi West people the right to have an elected representative, while it advised  members to remain peaceful and law abiding, and not to succumb to intimidation from mischief makers in achieving the recall.
