Transfer news: Ronaldo reportedly accepts Juventus move

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to join Italian giants, Juventus after the Serie A champions decided to pay the €100 million (£88m/$116m) release clause to Real Madrid.

Italian newspaper, O Jogo reported on Wednesday that Juventus have analysed the financial aspects of signing the Portugal superstar and, in addition to the fee, are prepared to hand Ronaldo a four-year contract worth €120m (£101m/$140m).

Ronaldo’s relationship with Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez has allegedly broken down amid failure to agree on a new contract and the 33-year-old has decided to join Juventus.

It was reported in Spain on Tuesday that Real Madrid have decided they will accept an £88m offer from Juventus for the striker.

The star forward looks increasingly likely to leave the club this summer.

He hinted that he could leave the Bernabeu directly after Real won their third successive Champions League title at the end of May.

The 33-year-old wants a significant pay rise to keep him in line with the new deals handed to Neymar and Lionel Messi by PSG and Barcelona respectively.

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez had been unwilling to accept a new contract for the player in the twilight of his career which could be the reason he wants to leave the club.
