2019: Jigawa guber aspirant says APC woun’t get it easily in the state

A governorship aspirant in Jigawa State, Aminu Mohammed Bakar, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday faulted the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2015, describing the party’s emergence “as an accident that cannot happen again in the country come 2019”.

Bakar also said the touted power of incumbency by promoters of the ruling party in the North-East was a figment of their imagination “as only Allah gives power”.

The governorship hopeful made this declaration at the National Secretariat of the PDP in Wadata Plaza Abuja where he purchased his expression of interest form for the state governorship election.

When asked by journalists on how he could overcome the power of incumbency in his home state considered to be a stronghold of the ruling APC, he said, “The APC emergence to power in 2015 was an accident and it will not happen this time around.

“I’m from Jigawa state . I’m going for the state governorship election, Insha Allah.

“You see, when you say power, what do you mean? only Allah is power and nobody else.

“The people of Jigawa state know me very well. They know what I can do. They know my experience. They know I’m set to work for the state and I will do that.”
