River 2019: Why I want to be governor-Gborogbosi

A Rivers State governorship aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr. Leesi Gabriel Gborogbosi has stated that his desire to provide good governance for the state made him to go into the race.

He stated this in a statement made available to this medium yesterday in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Gborogbosi said, “My strong desire is to build a better Rivers State by providing good governance, creating jobs, and reducing poverty”.

He added that he  intends promoting decentralized development, and mutually beneficial collaborations between operating companies and host communities if elected.

The aspirant while soliciting for support ahead of the the SDP gubernatorial  party primaries slated for 3rd October, 2019 , said ,“the first critical step is to secure the SDP party ticket in this “crowded and financially dominated” race if we are to progress with the hope of having our Governor in 2019”.

“I am seeking the support of all our people globally either in the form of intellectual contributions (including global networks) and/or financial donations as the party primaries’ preparations are intensely ongoing,” he said.

There are currently four aspirants for the parties ticket 1 (Ogoni); 2 (Kalabari); and 1 (Bonny).
