JUST IN: Government, labour meet again over minimum wage

Members of the tripartite committee set up to come up with a new national minimum wage for the country are having a meeting in Abuja.

The meeting holding in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha is being attended by officials of the Federal Government, representatives of the organised private sector and representatives of labour unions.

The meeting is coming few hours to the commencement of the nationwide industrial action called by the labour unions.

Members of the committee are expected to sign the final report at today’s meeting and thereafter forward it to the SGF, Boss Mustapha, for onward transmission to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The outcome of this meeting will determine whether the nationwide strike called by labour will hold or not.
