Niger Delta: Army distribute mobility aids to persons with disabilities

As part of its ongoing operation Crocodile Smile III, by the  6 Division of Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, troops of the 146 Battalion, Bonny  in Rivers State have distributed free mobility aids to persons with disabilities in the area.

The aids were distributed to PWDs both in Bonny Island and Finima..

Addressing journalist while distributing the materials, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 6 Division, Major-General Jamil Sarham said the gesture is to ensure that the host communities also feel the positive impact of the military, stressing that the operation is  not just about eradication of crimes.

Represented by the Commander of 6 Division Garrison, Brigadier-General Hillary Nzan, the GOC urged the beneficiaries to put the items provided for them in good use.

The  beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the military for the gesture.

One of them said, ” it is with great pleasure we receive this, usually I would run when I see the army but this singular act has changed my narrative about them.”

 On his part, the Commanding Officer of the 146 Battalion Lt. Col. Jerry Maigari who was represented by Major Muhammad Musa said the communities have been supportive in terms of providing relevant information for the curbing of crime.

Similar, the troop have also extended same gesture to Igwuruta in Ikwerre local government area of the state where they carried out free  medical outreach in the communities.
