38-year-old man defiles three kids in Rivers

A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has ordered that  a 38-year-old man, Ikechukwu Ononuju, be remanded in prison custody for allegedly defiling three underage children.

The kids aged eight, nine and 10, respectively, were allegedly defiled by the suspect at different times at the Railway Quarters, Bundu, Port Harcourt, last December 28.

A court document alleged that the suspected rapist lured the victims to an obscure area, covered their mouths with his palms and defiled them in turn.

The accused was charged with six-count charge bordering on rape and defilement.

The charge was not read out to him, hence, he did not take a plea.

The suspect was represented by a lawyer.

Magistrate Sokari Andrew-Jaja ordered that he be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till January 10.
