Breaking: Gunmen assassinate youth leader in Rivers

By: Felix Ikpotor

The youth leader of Ogale Community in Eleme Local Government Area of River State, Comrade Ogbo Nwafor has been killed by unknown gunmen.

Nwafor before his death was a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and a grassroot mobilize of the party.

His assassination comes barely a month after  Jonah Chu, a leader of the party was murdered in his house in the area on December 24, 2018.

It was gathered that Nwafor was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence at Ogale-Eleme at the weekend.

Although the reason for the assassination is not yet known, reports from the scene of the crime suggest it is not unconnected with politics as relatives say many not on his side saw him as a big threat to their victory in the forthcoming 2019 elections.

As at press time, the police and family are yet to make official statements as to the death of the deceased.

PHSpectator recalls that few months back Mr. Samuel Wanjoku who was a ward leader of the party and brother to the member representing Ikwerre Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Azubuike Wanjoku was also assassinated and his body dumped in a forest.
