Wike dissolves State Universal Basic Education Board

Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has dissolved the State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB).

The dissolution, takes immediate effect.

The Governor directed members of the board to hand over all property and documents of the Board in their possession to the  most senior officer.this is coming barely one day after the governor had a meeting with heads of primary and secondary schools where he abolished fees and levies and also threatened to prosecute any school head found to be collecting them.

The dissolution was contained in a statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media.

No reason was given for the dissolution.

Venerable Fyneface Aker was the chairman of the ousted board.
