Bayelsa Police begin manhunt for abductors of Siasia’s mother

The Bayelsa State Police Command say it has launched manhunt for the suspected kidnappers of the mother of Former Super Eagles Coach and player, Samson Siasia.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Asinim Butswat who confirmed the incident said the unknown gunmen who were heavily armed came through the waterways of the River Nun at about 2am on Monday and invaded the residence of 80 year old Mrs Ogere Beauty Siasia, in the riverine village of Odoni, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State and whisked her away to an unknown destination.

He said the Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State command and the command’s Tactical Team has visited the scene of the crime, stressing that the command in collaboration with other security agents have launched manhunt to apprehend the and rescue the victim.

Sources say the suspected kidnappers gained entrance to the house of the mother of the former National Under 23 team coach by breaking the back door to gain access into the building.

They said she did not take her blood pressure drugs, stating that the kidnappers are yet to make contact with the family.

PHSpectator reports that in November 2015, Mrs. Siasia spent 12 days with kidnappers, who snatched her from her residence in Odoni community of Sagbama Local Council Area in Bayelsa State and released her after a ransom of about #600,000 was reportedly paid.
