Smart Adeyemi sworn in to represent Kogi West senatorial district

Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West Senatorial District was Wednesday, sworn-in by the Clerk of the Senate.

Adeyemi took the oath of office  to replace Senator Dino Melaye who lost the election in a rerun that took place on 16th November, 2019.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Kogi West Senatorial District election inconclusive after the state elections of 16th November

The rerun which produced Senator Smart Adeyemi was, however, concluded on 1st December in favour of the APC.

The final result saw Senator Adeyemi polling over 88,000 votes while Senator Dino Melaye polled over 68,000 votes.
