Factional caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr, Sokonte Davies has stated that the crisis in the party is not about Senator Magnus Ngei Abe and the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as both men are not in contention.
Davies who addressed a media briefing in Port Harcourt said it was wrong to reduce the crisis in the party to the two leaders.
He said: “ Magnus and Amaechi are not in contention. I am saying the problem have been mismanagement of ambition and grievances”.
He also said the CTC of the party led by him are not in contempt of Justice Goerge Omereji’s ruling which enthroned Igo Aguma as caretaker chairmen of the party in the state.
“the National Executive Committiee of the party has declared that all cases by APC members against the party be withdrawn, but Igo Aguma has gone to court to file a case against us.so its not a matter that we are going to file a case against him but we are going to escalate his matter to the national caretaker committee”.
“We as caretaker committee are not in court with anybody. Whatever we are doing we are going to respond and Igo Aguma has filed a contempt proceedings against us and we are willing to go and defend that position because we are not in contempt of the judgement of Justice Omereji”.
He reinterated that there is no faction in the APC in the state.
On the reconciliatory moves by his faction he said Senators Andrew Uchendu and Wilson Ake would spearhead the move.
“We have started an internal reconciliation process, headed by Sen. Andrew Uchendu and Sen. Wilson Ake, that is on the second place and like I told you we are talking to everybody.
“In furtherance of what we are doing and because we want to build a strong party and a strong party is built from the grassroots we want to make sure that everybody that is qualified to run the party from the grassroots will participate and know for sure and that this is the critical thing”.
