The European Union has felicitated with Nigeria on her 60th Independence anniversary.
The Head of the EU Delegation in Nigeria, Amb Ketil Karlsen, on the official Twitter handle of the EU, @EUinNigeria, urged Nigerians to embrace unity despite her diverse cultures and religion rather than divide the country.
Karlsen also noted that the achievements recorded in 60 years should not be taken for granted, despite the number of challenges facing the country.
According to him, the uninterrupted democratic rule for more than 20 years is worth celebrating and must be nourished
“The amazing and rich diversity of Nigeria in terms of culture, language, religion, ethnicity is simply unique and a vital strength that should make every Nigerian proud.
“Nigerians should always focus on what unites the country as togetherness is what defines the potential of Nigeria as a nation,’’ he said.
