The Rivers State Government has officially confirmed Mene Barile Yornah Deebom (Mene-bua Kenwigbara) as the substantive occupant of the stool of Gbenemene Ken-Khana Kingdom in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A member of the Ken-Khana Council of Chiefs, HRH  Magnus Edooh, confirmed the development.

Chief Edooh is also the Chief of Staff and Media Director to the new king .

PHSpectator recalls that earlier lastweek news filtered in that Mene Deebom was appointed acting Gbenemene by the state government.

The stool became vacant after the death and subsequent burial of its former occupant, Mene MSH Eguru.

Succession to the throne nearly threw the kingdom into crises with the son of the late former occupant Prince Eguru and Mene Deebom both claiming to have been crowned as the Gbenemene of the kingdom.

It took the intervention of both the Khana Local Government Council Chairman, Elder Lahteh Loolo, the Supreme Council of Ogoni Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders in the area to calm the situation.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner, Ministry of Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Olisaelloka Tasie-Amadi received the Ken Khana Kingdom Council Of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs on Monday in his office as the council paid him a Thank You visit for recommending the elevation of HRH Mene Barile Yornah Deebom from a 2nd Class Stool to a 1st Class Stool inline with their constitution as the Gbenemene Ken Khana in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State..

Speaking during the visit, the new Gbenemene Ken Khana His Royal Majesty, Mene Barile Yornah Deebom expressed  appreciation to the  Commissioner for recommending his elevation to a 1st class stool and promised to discharge the duties of his new office with fear of God and service to mankind.

Responding, the  Commissioner Barr. Elloka Tasie-amadi thanked the Ken Khana Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers for the visit and reiterated that it was only HRM Mene Barile Yornah Deebom who satisfied the conditions precedent as provided by the Ken Khana Kingdom Council of Traditional Rulers constitution and being the only one selected by the Council of Traditional Rulers is to be accorded all privileges as Gbenemene Ken Khana.
