There is no date yet for resumption of primary schools in Rivers State.
this even as the State Ministry of Education has refuted a news which went round that primary schools were expected to resume today (Monday).
Reacting to the news, the ministry in a statement by the Permanent Secretary sir Chidi Adiele said their attention has been “ drawn to fake news making rounds that primary schools in the state will reopen 12th October, 2020.
The Ministry states as follows:
That the information is fake and should be discountenanced, that schools in the state resumed 5th of October as approved by the State Executive Council.
It added that primary schools were exempted from reopening following expert medical advice.
The ministry said that the ministry shall make a formal announcement regarding the date when nursery and primary schools in the state will reopen. Schools and further urged parents and guardians not to take the viral fake news
