Rivers Assembly approve Wike’s MTEF

…Presents budget, Wednesday

Rivers State House of Assembly, RVHA, Tuesday,  approved the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, 2021-2023 for the state

The governor, Nyesom Wike had earlier forwarded the MTEF to the assembly with a request for consideration and approval.

While approving the  request, Speaker of the assembly,  Ikuinyi-Owaji  Ibani explained that the plan has taken into consideration the dynamics of the economic environment and the related risks, stressing that the plan gave priority to the diversification of the economy and capital projects, among others.

The speaker also informed the lawmakers of the governor’s letter to present the 2021 budget on Wednesday.

Earlier, Leader of the assembly,  Martin Amaewhule while presenting the document for debate  explained that the governor’s request for the assembly to approve the Medium Term Expenditure Framework was in line with the Rivers State Fiscal Responsibility Law number 8 of 2010, as well as the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
