A tricycle operator popularly known as Keke NAPEP was on Friday morning crushed to death by a truck which reportedly ran over him.
The incident occurred in front of the Slaughter Market at Eliozu axis of the East West Road, Obio-akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State with buyers and sellers at the popular market throw into mourig.
An eyewitness told this publication that the deceased was about crossing the busy express road when he was crushed to death.
He was said to have died instantly.
However, tension heightened when the truck driver attempted to flee the scene and was arrested by traders at the market who nearly lynched him.
Meanwhile, the state police command was yet to confirm the incidents at the time of this report.
