Channels TV to investigate reporter that assaults wife few weeks after childbirth

The management of Channels Television have promised to look into the case of assault by one of its reporters against his wife.

 Mr Pius Angbo who reports for the TV in Owerri  came under fire for brutalizing his wife.

Dr Ifeanyinwa Angbo, a medical doctor in Owerri said during the weekend that her husband inflicted bodily injuries on her for telling him not to spend money on women.

She said in a video that has now gone viral on the Internet that she had their fourth baby four weeks ago, adding that they have been married for six years.

The video attracted a lot of attention on the Internet with users calling for his sack and prosecution.

Channels TV in a statement said it was investigating the incident, adding that it does not condone violence against women.

“Channels Television does not condone violence against women or anyone in general.

“The domestic violence matter reported against one of our reporters is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken”, the statement said.
