Cult clash claim seven lives in Rivers community

Bitter clashes between rival cult groups in Sogho community, Khana local government area of Rivers State has left no fewer than seven persons dead.

Community sources revealed that the crisis which escalated on Wednesday has engulfed the entire community as locals are now running to nearby communities for shelter.

They confirmed that as at 5:00pm Thursday, seven youths were confirmed dead.

Locals are now calling on security agencies to come to their aid.

At the time of this report, Chairman of the area, Elder Lahteh Loolo  was yet to issue any statement on the matter. However,  he has previously  said his administration has invested so much in restoring peace in the council especially with the formation of Khana Security and Peace Advisory Council, KHASPAC, which is headed by the divisional police officer in-charge of Bori, Bako Amgbasin.

The police command in the state, also has not commented on the matter.
