Youths clash leaves one dead, properties destroyed

Crisis struck in Umuokwa communities of Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers state, after a man was allegedly killed at a burial vigil at the weekend, leading to the displacement of families.

Reprisal attacks by aggrieved youths, left property worth millions of naira destroyed.

Also destroyed was a Nine Bedroom apartment belonging to one Mr Miracle Anele, a youth leader and community mobiliser.

Anele, was said to be busy on the 8th of April with Omuma For Christ (OYC) group, where they reached a goal to change Chalk Boards to Marker Boards in all the Senior Secondary Schools in Omuma LGA.

Eyewitness reports said the attackers decided to launch the attack on the Community, accusing some Youths in the community of being behind the death of their brother.

Indigenes of the community while condemning the violence, appealed to the state government to bring an end to the different crises brewing in the area.
