UFC 261: Kamaru Usman to earn $1.5million for knocking out Masvidal

UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, will earn a whopping $1.5million after his second-round knockout win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 on Sunday.

The fight which took place in front of 15,000 spectators  at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, lived up to its billing.

Usman, the Nigerian-American  floored Masvidal in front of his home supporters, to retain his UFC title for the fourth time.

According to sportekz.com, the Nigerian will be paid an astonishing $1.5m, while Masvidal will earn as much as $900,000 thanks to the crowd at the venue and a high Pay Per View sale.

Usman has a guaranteed $750,000 for the fight appearance and another $60,000 promotional bonus. He earned himself an extra $50,000 as his bout was selected as one of the two Performances of The Night as well as that of teammate, Rose Namajunas.

His earnings from the PPV revenue is set to take his total accumulated earnings to $1.5m.

In his last fight against Gilbert Burns, he (Usman) raked in a whopping $900,000 as his share from the PPV buys, along with a performance bonus of $50,000.
