Oyigbo council boss tasks councillors on service delivery

Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Hon. Akara Ugochukwu Nworgu , has urged councillors of the area to be serious with their legislative duties and work in synergy with the executive arm to move the LGA forward.

He stated that the interest of the people of Oyigbo should be given priority, to enable them feel the good works of the present administration.

Hon. Akara said this while swearing-in the newly elected councillors and vice chairman of the Area, at Council’s headquarters at Afam.

According to him, his administration is poised to carry everybody along, irrespective of party affiliation.

He further, warned that lateness and absentism would not be tolerated in his regime and advised all council staffers to be committed to their duties.

“ As chairman I want the councillors to work in synergy with the executive arm to enable us achieve success.

“I want to say that my adminstration will be all inclusive government, irrespective of party affiliation. Let us place the Oyigbo first before us. But let me advise all council staffers to be serious with their jobs, I will not tolerate any form of lateness and absentism,” Hon. Akara said.

Earlier, the Chairman of National  Union of Local Government Employees  (NULGE) in the area,  Comrade Nwankwo Christian, said workers were ready to cooperate and give necessary support to the chairman to achieve his  desired objectives.

Comrade Nwankwo, called on chairman to initiate laudauble projects that would change the  face of the area.

He expressed optimism that the newly elected  chairman with his wealth of experience would put smiles on the faces of the people.
