Rivers varsity expels suspected killer of 400-level student

Management of the Rivers State University (RSU) has expelled one Suanu Wisdom Nwiyaara (AKA Peruzzi) who, a fortnight ago, allegedly shot and killed a final year student within the school premises.

Nwiyaara, a 300 level Architectural Science student of same institution  was arrested by the police while attempting to escape after he allegedly killed Osundu Chimela who reportedly had a gun hidden in his panties before he was shot.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, the RSU management said the move to expel Nwiyaara was necessary as the institution has zero tolerance for cultism and all forms of violence, especially within its premises.

The suspect is still in police custody.

Meanwhile, Josephine Amaechi, mother of the deceased says the gun which the police said was found on her son was planted on him.

Mrs Amaechi told reporters that she wants the police to tell the truth about how the gun found its way into the pubic area of her late son. She said her late son was not a cultist.

She also questioned why the police are not asking the suspect accused of killing her son what his motive was.
