Mene Nnee emerges OMPALAN Rivers chapter chairman

The Oil and Solid Minerals Producing Areas Landlords’ Association of Nigeria,  OMPALAN, has approved the nomination of His Royal Highness, Mene Samuel Nnee as chairman of  the Rivers State chapter of the association.

Nnee is the Gbenemene Tua-Tua of Tai Kingdom in Rivers State.

This was contained in a letter of appointment issued by the national secretary of the association, Professor Eyo Etim Eyong.

The letter sited by this publication reads in part: “The above appointment is premised on your track-record of integrity and commitment to democratic governance, peace and unity in Nigeria”.

It added: “As the lawful voice of oil and solid minerals producing communities in Nigeria, our focus is mainly on collaboration with government agencies and institutions at all levels to secure, peace and protection of the environment  of impacted communities that bear the brunt of painful environmental degradation.
