PDP: Secondus loses as appeal court falls to stop national convention

Uche Secondus, suspended National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lost his bid to stop the party’s planned national convention.

The Appeal Court on Friday, dismissed an interlocutory suit by Secondus aimed at stopping the convention.

PDP’s national convention is scheduled to hold on Saturday (tomorrow).

The three-man Appeal Court Panel sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in a unanimous judgement, dismissed the suit.

Reading the judgment, Justice Gabriel Kolawole described the suit before it as an after-thought and abuse of the court process.

The court blamed him for not acting when his ward and local governments suspended him until now.

It urged the party to go on with the planned convention.
