NPA commends Eastern port security for apprehending criminals

Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Rivers Port  has applauded security agencies at the Eastern Port for their vigilance and commitment to duty and  for recent  arrests of some criminals and recovery of  stolen items at  Rivers Port.

In an interview, Head Corporate and Strategic Communications Department, Mrs. Ezinne Asinobi said the management of NPA , led by Mr. Bello Koko is ever committed to ensuring maximum support for all security agencies in the port.

PHSpectator recalls that recently, the   Police Eastern Ports Command led by  CP  Tami Evelyn Peteside  arrested some vandals who specialise in cutting and stealing  steel beams at the quays.

Four suspects were paraded alongside some stolen goods and  equipment used by  the suspects during their operations.

It was learnt that the destruction and stealing of steel beams from quays by criminal elements had led to the collapse of berths 8 leading to a long legal battle between a Concessioneer, BUA and the management of the Nigeria Ports Authority.
