Rivers police rescue job seeker from kidnap syndicate

Rivers State Police Command has arrested three members of a kidnap syndicate who abducted  one Adiele Emmanuel who travelled from Delta State after being promised a job in Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson of the command, Nnamdi Omoni disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, on Friday.

He said the suspects were arrested at a hotel in Oyigbo Local Government Area, where the victim was held hostage.

This was after they lured him from Delta State to Port Harcourt on Facebook, pretending to offer him a job.

Omoni said the suspects will be charged to court and that justice must be served in the matter.

He stated that the command is out to end all forms of crime and criminality in the state, and urged all those involved to desist from such acts.

Omoni said: “In a similar kidnap incidents, the trio of Bright Williams ‘m’ 22yrs, Queen Effiong Edem ‘f’ 20yrs and Ndidi Apaka ’m’ were arrested in connection with the case of kidnapping of Adiele Emmanuel who was lured from Delta State to Port Harcourt for a non-existent employment. While in Port Harcourt, he was held hostage and kept in a Hotel at Obeama, Oyigbo LGA where the Police Operatives through intelligence led Policing stormed and rescued him.

“Three suspects including the Director of the Hotel, a lady and one of the gang members were arrested and are helping us in our investigation. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
