Rivers police raze criminal hideouts, make arrests

The Rivers State Police Command in conjunction with the  Eleme and Alesa Youth Council, on Tuesday, raided and burnt camps and hideouts in bushes along Trailer Park/Onne in Eleme locval government area of the state, said to belong to suspected criminals operating in the area.

Two suspects were reportedly apprehended during the raid.

The Eleme Youth Council Coordinator, Prince Nsao Okereke, who confirmed the arrest said the action was in pursuant of the promise the council chairman, Obarilomate Ollor, made to the people of Eleme; that he will ensure a crime-free festive period.

The youth leader also said the chairman has declared full clampdown on all criminal hideouts in Eleme, and has directed them to carry out such action from time to time.
