PHACCIMA seeks partnership with NIPC on investment drive

President of  the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture, PHACCIMA, Sir Mike Elechi has called for partnership with Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) on investment drive.

He made the call when the Acting Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission led other members of the Commission on a courtesy visit to the Chamber in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital.

The PHACCIMA boss who thanked the commission for deeming it feet to visit the chamber said it was a step in a right direction.

 “Your organization is the pivot of business development in Nigeria and our primary focus as a Chamber is on the development and regulation of SMEs in Rivers state. Experience have proven that why most of your organizations failed on its responsibilities was because of the vehicle they used in caring out their assignment. You  are here because you know that we are speaking same language and that we have the tools and government itself have a lot of investment to do and it’s believed that they are doing it but it is not yielding results because government are not  good business managers,” he said.

Elechi advised that if Federal Government must get it right investment wise, they ought to look for the driver’s of the private sectors.

He advised the commission to passed through the chamber to get the right professionals on any sector they  wish to venture in.

Earlier, the Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Investment Commission, Mr. Emeka Offor said they were at the chambers to intimate the chamber on the existence of the Commission, saying that the federal government had recently announced its national development plans for 2021- 2025 and the need to drive the nation’s economic plans.

He maintained that Rivers State is blessed with huge potentials yet untapped ranging from large deposits of crude oil, second largest Seaport and others.

The NIPC boss expressed willingness to partner with PHACCIMA in realizing the  aims and objectives of the commission.
