Chairman of Tai Local Government Area in Rivers State, Mbakpone Okpe has inaugurated the Tai Students’ Bursary Payment Committee to verify and make available data for the payment of stipends to students from the council in tertiary isitutions.
The council boss while inaugurating the committee, stated that his administration is committed to supporting Tai children in tertiary institutions, restructure the council for the better and committed to educational development.
Okpe noted that the delay in the payment of bursary since the inception of his administration was to set out a modalities through which the payment would be made without it being hijacked by persons.
The chairman warned that only verifiable names of students will be paid and further charged the committee to ensure that all data collation and statistics are correct.
Responding, chairman of the committee, Nkorle Nsininee promised to discharge their duties with utmost sense of responsibility.
