Police rearrest suspects of twins defilement in Rivers

Operatives of Puff Ader Tactical Unit of the Rivers State Police Command has re-arrested the two teenagers who allegedly defiled two-year-old twins, a boy and girl   in Port Harcourt.

Mother of the twins, Mrs Achinihu Clement said she wants justice for her children.

Narrating how she discovered the alleged defilement of her children, Mrs Clement  stated that she noticed it when her son was  unable to sit.

She explained that she had to question the boy who then told her how their dad’s brother who resides with them tampered with his anus.

She said that she immediately took the children to the hospital after checking her son, where it was also discovered that the hymen of her two-year-old female child  has been completely damaged.

In the meantime, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has lauded the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday for ensuring the re-arrest of the suspects.

A lawyer with the Human Rights Advocacy Group, Charles Edwin called for thorough investigation into the incident to determine the culpability of the suspects.

Edwin added that if the suspects are found culpable they should be made to face the law.

At press time, it was gathered that the suspects aged 16 and 19 have been transferred to the human rights desk at Police Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
