New Eze Ekpeye Logbo prioritizes security, peace, unity

The newly crowned king of the Ekpeye ethnic nationality in Rivers State, Amb. Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III said his administration will prioritize peace, security as well as improved unity of the people.

The monarch gave the assurance while addressing Journalists in his palace at Ula-Upata, in Ahoada East Local Government area shortly after his coronation on Wednesday.

King Anugwo, who promised never to let the mandate of the people on him down, assured that he would work with all to ensure Ekpeye nation is moved to a greater height, adding that he would make Ekpeye nation heard at the Rivers State Council Traditional Rulers and beyond.

Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo emerged Eze Ekpeye Logbo III to replace the late Robinson O. Robinson, after defeating three other contestants in the election few weeks back.

The Eze Ekpeye Logbo III, was declared winner of the contest after polling a total of 5 votes out of the 12 votes cast to defeat his closest opponent, Chief Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor with only one vote.

Other contenders to the revered stool include, Rt. Hon. Steven Ezekwem who got 3 votes and Prof. Dulu Apah with no vote.

The monarch who was physically excited and overwhelmed with joy, thanked the entire Ekpeye people for giving him the opportunity to serve them and dedicated his victory to God and his late parents

He called all hands to be on deck to achieve the expected goals, while pleading with all sons and daughters of Ekpeye to give him the needed support to enable him succeed.
